This delicious sour cream cake is my own invention. It may have existed before. I do not know. But I came up with the recipe because we had too many apples and I didn’t want them to go bad. I also had a bottle of sour cream that had been in the refrigerator for a long time. So I decided to stir it into the mix before the cream went bad.
In the end, I loved how it turned out. It’s fairly soft, moist, and not cloying. The apple gives it an impressive aroma, flavor and texture.

    For the cake
  • Preheat the oven to 177 ° C (350 ° F)
  • In a container, beat the unsalted butter (all 4 oz) and sugar until smooth.
  • When the butter (or margarine) and the sugar are well combined, add the eggs and beat again.
  • Now add the milk, vanilla and sour cream and beat again.
  • Add the all-purpose flour and baking powder and beat again until well combined.
  • Add the apple in thick or thin slices or cubes.
  • Once the mixture is ready, put it aside while we prepare the honey for the cake.
  • For the honey
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter and brown sugar.
  • When the honey is ready, take it quickly to a greased donut-shaped mold.
  • Add the finished cake mix on top of the honey in the baking dish.
  • Take the cake to the oven and bake for 1 hour.
  • After an hour, remove it from the oven and insert a toothpick to make sure it comes out clean or dry. This means that the cake is fully cooked.
  • And that's it! This cake can be eaten hot or cold accompanied by a cup of coffee or a delicious chocolate, super delicious!

Notes

  • Margarine and butter bars look alike visually but are made from different ingredients. Butter is made from milk and margarine from oil. If you don't have unsalted butter, try the one with salt and tell me how it tastes. It will not be salty because it does not have much salt.
  • I have used a donut-shaped baking pan but you can use a rectangular or a round one.
  • While the bread is hot, you can decide to turn it on a plate to remove it from the mold or to let it cool completely and then remove it from the mold (I suggest waiting).
