Notes
- To let the bread rest, find a place in your house that stays warm (no cold drafts or hot air). Do not put it in the sun.
- Yeast usually comes with instructions. Some require you to put it in sugar water, as we have done here. Others don't. Very hot water kills it, and water that is not hot enough cannot activate it.
- Yeast and baking powder or baking soda are not the same. Yeast are living organisms that produce carbon dioxide, which makes bread dough rise.
